Azam Nizamuddin is an experienced trial lawyer with over 25 years of litigation experience representing individuals, businesses, and professionals in high-stakes disputes across Illinois state and federal courts. He focuses his practice on family law, complex civil litigation, employment disputes, and personal injury.
Mr. Nizamuddin is a client centered courtroom advocate. He emphasizes client empathy within his trial strategy. He has handled bench trials, jury trials, and contested evidentiary hearings, and is known for his strategic approach to litigation, persuasive advocacy, and ability to manage complex, high-conflict cases.
Before joining Abear Law Offices, Mr. Nizamuddin spent over two decades as a litigator in both large and small firm settings, where he advised clients on general liability, commercial disputes, and employment matters. He later served as General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer for a financial services organization, where he developed expertise in litigation strategy, regulatory compliance, commercial real estate, and RLUIPA matters.
In addition to his litigation practice, Mr. Nizamuddin is a recognized leader in the legal community. He currently serves as a Commissioner on the Illinois Supreme Court Commission on Professionalism, where he contributes to initiatives promoting civility, ethics, and professionalism in the legal profession. He has held multiple leadership roles within the DuPage County Bar Association, including Chair of both the Civil Law and Appellate Law Sections, Editor-in-Chief of the DCBA Brief, and currently serves on the Board of Directors.
A frequent lecturer and former adjunct professor, Mr. Nizamuddin has presented on trial strategy, employment law, corporate liability, and constitutional law topics, including the First Amendment and RLUIPA. He brings both academic depth and practical courtroom experience to his presentations.
